Commission Rates are negotiable on Private Collections
ARMS AND MILITARIA
COMMISSION CHARGES ON SOLD LOTS.
15% for Militaria, Coins, Medals, Books, Collector’s Items, Arms and Armour and Licensed Firearms. Minimum charge £10.00 per lot.
A reduced Commission charge for antique firearms of 8% will be in operation during 2017
COMMISSION CHARGES FOR UNSOLD LOTS.
2.5% for Militaria, Medals, Coins, Arms and Armour. Minimum charge of £10.00 per lot.
2.5% for Licensed Firearms. Minimum charge of £10.00 per lot.
1% on lots of £1,000 or more.
Should this become necessary, 5% on reserve, estimated value or bids received, the minimum charge is £20.00 per lot.
UNPAID ACCOUNTS. Due to the present-day high rates of bank charges 5% will be added to any unpaid account per month and additional compound interest every month thereafter.
VAT is applicable to all charges at the current rate, with the exception of overseas accounts when VAT is charged on buyers premium only. In the case of Overseas vendors in
the EEC NOT registered for VAT, VAT is payable on all charges.
UNSOLD LOTS. See Note (4).
INSURANCE. See Note (5).
PAYMENTS OF PROCEEDS TO OVERSEAS VENDORS. See Note (14).
CATALOGUE ILLUSTRATIONS. See Note (2).
UNPROVED FIREARMS, UNPROVABILITY CERTIFICATES AND AMMUNITION. See Notes (21), (22) and (24).
THE FOLLOWING RATES APPLY TO TOYS
Sellers commission: 22% plus VAT commission on sold lots (minimum charge £10 plus VAT per lot) This includes all illustrations in the catalogue and those used on-line via the-saleroom.com (as deemed appropriate by the Auctioneers). Goods entered into auction on behalf of registered charities are exempt from sellers’ commission charges, providing a charity register number is produced and the cheque is made out to the charity concerned.
Reserves: reserves are only accepted on items with a value of £100.00 or more. If required, reserves must be confirmed in writing at least six days before the auction. If reserves are not received, then the Auctioneer will sell at best on the day of the sale. A form is included with the vendor’s sale catalogue.
Unsold lots: Any lots remaining unsold are offered again in a following auction. No reserves are carried forward or are allowed for items being offered a second time. Unsold charge: 2.5% plus VAT. This is only charged if the owner places a reserve higher than our recommended minimum estimate.
Withdrawal Fee. A minimum withdrawal charge of £30.00 plus VAT will be levied on each lot withdrawn. This is based on lots with a minimum value up to £100.00. Over this amount the charge will be 5% plus VAT based on the Auctioneers value of the lot concerned. The above only applies if the item has been catalogued.
Insurance. Wallis & Wallis will insure your goods against fire and theft whilst on our premises. This is charged at 50pence per £100.00 value.
Payment of monies. Proceeds for lots sold with be sent 30 working days after the sale. Part payments are available on request, subject to payment received from the purchaser. Wallis & Wallis reserve the right to withhold payments if any dispute arises over the sale of a lot, or to delay payment pending receipt of monies to complete overseas and home transactions.
VAT. Vendors registered for VAT must include the tax when considering reserve prices on VAT-able items. Please furnish Wallis & Wallis with your VAT registration number to enable them to inform you of exported lots. VAT is applicable to all charges at the current rate.
