Catalogues for our upcoming auction can be viewed by one of the following links below (approximately 10 days prior to the sales):
Bids entered via thesaleroom attract a charge of 4.95% in addition to the Buyers Premium of 20% plus VAT.
We now also offer online bidding through easyLiveAuction.com Commission and on line bids through easyLive Auction.com attract a charge of 3% in addition to the Wallis and Wallis buyer’s premium of 20%. Including VAT, all bids placed through them will therefore attract a total charge of 27.6% on the hammer price. Please note that easyLiveAuction offer the alternative of paying an advance registration fee to them of £3 including VAT per sale as an alternative to their 3% commission.
When viewing the auction on lines it will be noted that we now include estimates on all lots. Please note, these are based largely on the opinion of the cataloguer and take into account any reserves at that time. As they are often prepared well in advance of the sale on few occasions they may be subject to change.
Regarding bids lodged via internet auction sites, to clarify a point – we would like to advise clients that prior to the sale the auctioneers have no knowledge of the internet bids. Whilst we do know who has registered for active bidding, we do not know on which lots bids have been entered. A member of our staff acts on behalf of the internet bidder at the sale; the auctioneer does not have this information on the rostrum.
