Toys & Models
Wallis & Wallis has a long and proud history of selling toys and models, dating back to 1966, when our very first toy section appeared within our regular catalogues of Militaria and Arms & Armour.
Even in those early years, collectables such as model ships, O gauge railways and Dinky Toys were becoming increasingly sought after, and the toy section continued to grow steadily.
A major turning point came when Glenn Butler joined the family firm. With a lifelong passion for collecting Dinky and Corgi Toys, Glenn naturally expanded the department, and in 1981 Wallis & Wallis held its first dedicated Toys & Models Auction.
At the time, we were the very first auction house in the country to host a stand-alone toy sale, making us true trailblazers in the field.
What began as four auctions per year quickly grew to eight, driven by strong demand and growing international interest. Over the decades, we have built a reputation as one of the most respected specialists in the industry, supported by a wealth of knowledge and experience.
We cater for a wide range of collectables, including:
-
Die-cast models
-
Tinplate toys
-
Model railways (all gauges)
-
Vintage and modern collectables, including Star Wars and related memorabilia
Since those early days, Wallis & Wallis has sold over £17.5 million worth of collectible toys and models — a testament to the strength of our market and our trusted expertise.
Today, Glenn and his long-term colleague Geoff Wood remain closely involved with the department, working alongside the new ownership to continue this proud tradition.
If you have collectible toys or models you are considering selling — whether from your own collection or on behalf of a family member or estate — our experienced team is here to help.
